{Hello New York- where have you been all my life?}

About a month ago, the hubby whisked me off for a whirlwind trip to Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York City. It was amazing just to be away with him, sans kids, sans laptops, sans work phones. Just us {and my bestie and her hubby} and it was so. incredibly. fantastic. After a year long deployment, it was exactly what we needed.

We ate Philly cheese steaks for breakfast, visited the Liberty Bell {and all the Independence Hall stuff} saw the “Rocky” steps and downtown Philly, took a tour of Princeton, and hung out on Ft Dix {our friends are stationed there}.

It was also my first trip to New York and I am completely smitten *smile*.

We took a carriage ride through Central Park, checked out the view from the Empire State Building, shopped for the kids at FAO Schwartz, faux ice skated in Rockefeller Center, walked Time Square {the bestie and I did it in heels!} ate waaaay too much in Little Italy everywhere, and just enjoyed the sights and sounds of the city. And since the hubs and I both have a little background in newspaper, we had to pose for the dorky NY Times shot.

It was pure bliss. And I seriously didn’t want to come home.

But……….

Lucky for us, we got some great news while we were away.

It seems New York is in our future ❤ ❤ ❤

Stay tuned…..

    So good to see you enjoying
    some sweet together time
    after the strain of a deployment
    (my son is away in Afghanistan
    until September…..it's so hard
    on the family left behind, isn't it).
    Anyway, the joy on your faces
    is priceless;
    thanks for the beautiful share:)
