I don’t know about you, but I have a thing about scents and flavors during the holidays. One of my favorite scents is a Christmas tree. My favorite flavor is peppermint. You put those two together and I am a happy girl.
My absolutely favorite thing to do during Christmas is to turn on a Christmas movie (Christmas Vacation is a favorite), light a Christmas tree candle, and make a peppermint something. When I put those two things together it feels like the holidays.
Normally, I want to drink something hot, but there are a few times a season I prefer a cold drink. Normally, I don’t have a “required” ingredient, but to get the peppermint hot chocolate flavor make sure you use peppermint hot chocolate.
1⁄2 cups of milk (might need a little more to reach desired consistency)
1 Packet Peppermint Hot Chocolate
6 ice cubes (or about 1 cup)
Candy Peppermints Crushed (optional for topping)
1. In a blender put your milk, hot cocoa mix, and ice cubes.
2. Blend it until it is well mixed. You might need a little bit more milk, if so add in a little at a time to reach your desired consistency.
3. Pour into a glass, top with the whipped cream, and sprinkle crushed peppermint on top!
Note: This is 1 serving size recipe. If you want more of a peppermint flavor I suggest adding a touch of peppermint extract.
